Meet Mike Lee, a paddler with Kilohana Outrigger, a community man and a truly genuine human. Mike represents Ozone in Northern California. His mission is to promote the sport of Outrigger paddling in Northern California by connecting communities, clubs, & paddlers with canoes, surfski, and paddles. Mike enjoys building relationships with the paddling community and enhancing his paddling experience in any way possible. 

Mike’s journey in paddling began in competitive Dragon boating and in youth leadership. In 2002 he was instrumental in organizing a youth division at California Dragon Boat Association (CDBA). In 2003, he joined Hui Wa’a and began outrigger paddling, where he further developed his passion for the paddle. Mike recalls that it was the competitiveness that originally drew him to the sport, and got him racing everything from sprint regattas to channel crossings. From there, his love of the sport grew as he realized that the Ohana style of the sport was what made it so special.

Mike’s goal is to best match a customer to the canoe, surfski or paddle, that is right for them.

“Through the entire process, I get to talk story with each and every one of my customers and really get to know them, this is one of my favorite parts of my job.”
